Partners in Community Growth and Opportunity

Setting Euclid Residents Up For Housing Success

At Euclid Development Corporation (EDCOR), we believe that every resident deserves access to safe, affordable housing and resources to help build a better future. Since our founding in 1978, we've worked tirelessly to uplift and empower our community members through innovative programs and services.

In partnership with the City of Euclid, our organization was born out of a desire to create more equitable housing opportunities for Euclid residents. We recognize that too many of our neighbors lacked the means to make critical home repairs or achieve first-time homeownership. That’s why we set out to provide the helping hand they need to obtain safe housing and begin building generational wealth.

Today, EDCOR administers various initiatives that align with our mission of investing in our residents:

  • Low Interest Home Improvement Loan Program: This 3% interest loan helps income-eligible homeowners make essential upgrades like replacing faulty electrical systems, fixing structural issues, and more. Applicants must meet federal income guidelines to qualify.

  • Down Payment Assistance: We offer down payment support for income-qualified first-time homebuyers who may not qualify for traditional loans and programs. This aid makes the dream of homeownership attainable.

  • Financial Counseling & Education: We work with partners to provide customized guidance to help residents manage finances, repair credit, and prepare for major purchases like a home.

At EDCOR, we don’t just see loan applicants and program participants—we see incredible potential for our community. We bring compassion, expertise, and a relentless drive to help our residents gain access to safe, stable housing.

We invite you to learn more about EDCOR's offerings and impact in Euclid. Please email info@edcor.org or download an application to get started. With your partnership, we can continue building a Euclid that offers opportunity and equity for all who call it home.

I Grew Up in Lakewood and Chose Euclid – Here’s Why I Stayed.

by Emma Davies

I grew up in Lakewood and spent most of my early life on Cleveland’s west side. When my husband and I began looking for a home, I found myself curious about what the east side had to offer. We were ready to settle somewhere long-term, and Euclid kept coming up as a place worth taking seriously. What started as a practical decision slowly became something more personal than I expected.
After moving to Euclid, I began to appreciate the pace of life here. The neighborhoods feel established in a way that’s reassuring, not stagnant. There’s a quiet pride woven into everyday moments. The streets feel lived in rather than designed, shaped by people who have cared for their homes and their blocks for years. Neighbors wave, stop to talk, and look out for one another without making a point of it.
One of the things I value most is the character of the homes themselves. Euclid’s older houses tell stories through their details, from original woodwork to front porches that invite you to slow down and stay awhile. These homes feel meant to be cared for and passed along, not replaced. That sense of continuity, of stewardship over time, was something I didn’t realize I was looking for until I found it here.
Living near Lake Erie has also deepened my connection to the city. Growing up in Lakewood, the lake was always part of how I understood home, and being close to it again feels grounding. In winter, Lake Erie takes on a quiet, expansive beauty that feels steady and enduring. Walking near the water on cold, clear days has become one of my favorite rituals, and a reminder of how closely Euclid is tied to the landscape around it.
Living here has reminded me that choosing a place thoughtfully matters. Euclid isn’t just where I live, it’s a place I’ve grown into. From the neighborhoods to the lake to the people who call it home, this city carries a sense of care and continuity that I’m proud to be part of.
